History

Main donors of the YES project are the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation Institute Open Society of Macedonia. This project was implemented by the SINTEF’s branch (www.sintef.no) in Skopje , the Foundation MIR (Management Industrial Research) and Foundation Institute Open Society of Macedonia (www.soros.org.mk).

In 2004 there has been conducted a pilot project for the purpose of identifying the facts about the ongoing activities that support the entrepreneurship in Macedonia as well as coordination of the Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) project with the other institutions that act and work in the same directions. The Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) project was implemented by SINTEF and Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia (FOSIM). High quality research methodology was adapted and used for this project especially focusing on gathering data through interviews and meetings in the Balkan region and in Macedonia.

he project team visited some governmental institutions for the purpose of obtaining government support and in the context of this meetings with the stakeholders were organized, possible locations for the Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) Incubator were examined and there has been conducted coordination with the already existing entrepreneurial activities.

In May 2005 the implementation of the Youth Entrepreneurial Service (YES) project has started and in this moment the YES Foundation is the implementator of the project.
